I was recently beind two payments because of an injury that required surgery on my back. I received a call one day at work asking if I would like to extend my lease out for two additional months for a fee. I agreed to it. The form was faxed at that moment to me while I was at work. I signed it and immediately returned the form. I then paid a payment of the fee plus an additional $150 that week as I agreed that I would.
A few weeks later, a woman comes to my house to reposses my 2006 Envoy. She did not want to hear about my extension and told me to call my collection agent. I received a letter a couple of days later with fees that totalled over $1500.00. I then called to speak to my "collection manager." This woman was very rude, and unprofessional. At first she even denied that she was my collection manager until I told her I recognized her voice. She would not give her manager's name/number and hung up on me after putting me on hold for over 20 minutes. In fact, I spent over three hours on the phone on day without getting to speak to any manager. I was hung up or sent back to the automated system after being on hold for 20-30 minutes at a time.
I call backed again and finally spoke to a manager that said he will pass a message on to my account managers supervisor. I have left three different messages on managers voice mails. No one will call me back. They are denying any wrong doing saying that they sent me this form in the mail twice-I NEVER RECEIVED A FORM IN THE MAIL. I only recevied it by fax when it was sent right back.
The letter they sent says they are going to auction off my vehicle and that I will owe the difference plus these outragous fees they are charging for picking up and "storing" my car.
It doesn't make sense that I would pay the fee and not turn in the form does it? They are telling me the reason for the repo was that they did not receive the extension form. They have humiliated me and inconvienced me besides everything else. I will never buy a GMAC product again.....which is all that I have ever bought in the past.
