When you try to contact them by phone ,it is a joke!!!!! You get transfered from one person to the next, but they can't put you in touch with anyone in charge.
I quess you can come and get the auto, because I can't make a payment. So sad that corporate america is automated andwe wonder why the price of everything is going sky high. 128792c

Of course you won't get transferred to anyone in charge because if they did that then everyone would want xferred to the company President. It's not their job to take phone calls from customers of the servicing division. It's the job of Customer Service and Account Resolution (collections). There are more options then mail. Read their website. Yes you can't pay it off at the dealership. THE DEALERSHIP HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR AUTO LOAN! Seriously, have you ever worked for a company before? |

3. Written by J on May 3, 2010 from rio rancho, new mexico, US Hi, I have experienced similar payment issues with GMAC since I was laid off. The funny thing is that they won't even accept partial payments on a weekly basis rather than a once a month payment. It seems GMAC drives loan failure on purpose. I am currently proceeding with legal and court proceedings with my GM vehicle. I did find an organization that might help, they are Help4carowners.com, you might want to check them out. For a fee, they will assist in negotiations with different lenders, wish me luck. I have offered to either sell my vehicle, or refi it with another lender, in order to avoid all the towing, auction drama and additional costs. Ironically, GMAC is dragging their feet with providing a auction or depreciated value to me in order to finalize the situation. My vehicle is a 2008 Saturn Sky redline with only 6K miles, it has been in storage since GMAC decided to play ***. I've tried to sell the vehicle, but no one can get financed for retail price. The real burner is that not only did GM close their Saturn division, but then they sold all of the remaining inventory as used to dealers, thus escalating depreciation values to existing Saturn owners. If you know of any other resources or options please let me know. I will keep this site updated on my progress.
4. Written by Me on April 30, 2010 from monroe, michigan, US GMAC is horrible all they do is give you the runaround extensions are idiotic and dont work. Get it refinanced who cares if the interest rate is higher just get the paper away from GMAC. I have a po box and was told the only way I could get an extension was if I gave them my physical address... yeah right they wanted to come get me vehicle NEVER AGAIN@!

6. Written by dealership on June 6, 2009 from -, -, US you can make a payment at a dealership, but it will take just as long for it to get to gmac if the dealership does as it does when you send it in, the dealership is not gmac. they are a bank. just like bb&t wachovia and all the others, they loan money. when you have problems with gmac, dont go to the dealership where you bought the car. if you give up your car,(repo) (not paying your bills) dont take it to the dealership, they are not gmac. call gmac tell them to come and get it.its still a repo. a GM dealership is not gm. gm does not have ownership in a dealership, they are a franchise. a dealership is a business,a place to make money. they purchase vehicles and resale them. employees at a dealership dont go out back and build a car with little hammers and screw drivers and make 1000s in profit. they have to pay for the cars they sell. just like any other retail store. just like walmart when they stock the shelf. as for making a payment, you can go to www.gmasfs.com and make a payment online. save a stamp, it gets there instantly. idiots!!
7. Written by Steve on June 29, 2008 from simi valley, california, US Problem with that is when you need to sell the car and don't have the pinkslip because GMAC has it.. need a place to take buyers money and pay to GMAC and get release from them to new owner.. you can't do that on-line!
8. Written by Jason on June 11, 2008 from mt. laurel, new jersey, US Well GMAC offers many ways to make the payment not only by mail .You can Money gram it, Wester Union, pay by phone, or even through their website. They even have direct pay which the payment is taken from your account ever month for free. Now yes they can transfer you from person to person, and that is annoying. Also you mention that you can't make the payoff at the dealer you got it from? why would you that's a hassle dealers are lazy, and they are the ones that almost always send the payment late. And last but not least their where payment centers but, in the early 90's a krazed cs of them walked in to the Jaksonville office to pay the bill, and came out in a body bag, the guy shot over 7 people i belive not sure but it happend. So that's why they stoped doing that. P.S dont turn in the vehicle it's a bad idea, try to have a transfer of equity, or get an extension.
