I had some damage to my garage from Hurricaine Irene. It took State Farm almost 2 months to get the estimate right and present me with a check. Check was made out to me and good old GMAC Mortgage". Like a dummy I filled out their *** paperwork, endorsed the check and sent it in to them/. Now they have deposited the check in their account and have put me in paper chase to get any funds back to pay for repairs?. Every time I send or fax back a response they say I have to wait 24 hours for the paperwork to get into their system before they will review it,. This apparently is code for "we need 24 hours to come up with the next gottcha"/. I guess they want me to pay for the repairs on my credit card so they can collect more interest..

My suggestion: endorse the check and deposit it through your ATM/. DO NOT SEND ANY CHECKS TO GMAC'. The banks do not want to hassle with sending the check back to you because the endorsement is wrong, and the Insurance company will never see the check again, so they will not care either. 128780e
