GMAC complaint
I have had the most HORRIBLE experience with GMAC customer service. Truly HORRIBLE! I have been waiting an entire month to have a serious issue resolved and each time I talk to someone they give me a different story. I can never talk to the same person and every time I am given an answer I find out the next day when I call back that what they told me was wrong. Save your time, money and sanity by never ever working with this company.

GMAC customer service DOES NOT respond to problems, their supervisors DO NOT get on the phone and they have no idea how to resolve their customer problems. This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. THE WORST! Don´t ever get your car loan through GMAC.

I will never finance a loan with GMAC. Use your local bank where you can talk to someone in person. 

 

I have made no less than 17 calls trying to get the release of lien. I purchased a used car from a private party. She owed on the car - I paid off her loan after she signed over the tile to me. I am waiting for the release of lien so I can drive the car. I cannot get the title transferred until I receive this document. I am told it takes 7-10 business days to get the release of lien in the mail. They do not fax. And they wonder why they are losing market share. 

 

I always buy American cars but I have to wonder how this would be handled if I had purchased a Honda.....

Hey Earl, 

Is there any way a customer can speak to a service rep here in the United States that can actually take action? The customer servive reps keep telling me that I will have to wait for a call from my "local office"....Why can't I call the "local office" if it exists?? The customer is you meal ticket...don't mess with them like this!

I completely agree. I have been waiting on a loan overpayment from a payoff in the amount of $3,000 for over a month. The reason I overpaid was because the customer service rep gave me the wrong payoff to start with. Now, I can't get an answer as to when the payment is coming, everytime I call I am told something different. They are stealing money. They are a horrible company, evil, corrupt, and they are taking hardworking people's money. Screw them, don't finance through them and maybe they'll go under like the rest of the lending institutions.
