We just purchased a new 2012 Terrain which will be our 4th GM product we have purchased over the years. We had a leased 2008 Equinox that we passed back in to purchase the Terrain. Long behold a few weeks later we receive a letter/bill form Ally (GMAC) for 475.00 for excess wear. When we called their customer service we were informed there were 2 small star chips in the front windshield and several scratches and a small dent on the passenger door. The customer service lady also said that they don't allow any star chips on returns (Not what their Wear Table says). We had the glass star chips repaired by Apple Auto glass (Also passed M.V.I. Inspection) and the scratches we had checked out at an Auto Body shop that told us that they were surface scratches and are easy to buff out prior to the return. To us these are normal wear and tear on a 4yr old equinox. Even Ally (GMAC) web site for Excess wear table shows this as normal wear. We received a copy of the Vehicle Inspection report and could not believe the poor quality of pictures and did not see a dent. We are very upset to receive this bill and then to have no satisfaction from their customer service is just not acceptable. As I search on the web for other people having the same issue as us, I am shocked to see/hear of countless number of complaints about Ally (GMAC) return issues on lease vehicles. We purchased a GM Product and if we have to pay this bill we will never purchase another GM product again. 1286f51
